Here we are delivering the $500 cheque from Delta Electricty, as well as the $2500 from donations from the visitors to the display. Lithgow, you should all be proud to have chipped in to help this excellent cause - Redkite.The staff of Redkite have been excellent especially Beth (on the right of the picture), and todays trip was well worth it. In fact we were so impressed with their greeting, talk, and interest in our small donation, that we will be raising funds for them again in 2010. Thank you Redkite for doing such a great job!Lithgow Lights is the only site dedicated to Animated Christmas Lights in Lithgow, NSW, Australia. 2009's light display is now over, and the build for 2010 has commenced.  This year we chose to again raise money for Redkite. As we did last year, 100% of donations will go to Redkite. By delivering specialised childhood cancer counselling and support, Redkite aims to alleviate the challenges young people and their families experience throughout the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and beyond. The organisation was founded in 1983 and prior to August 2005 was known as The Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children in Australia. Redkite spends 100% of all net income raised from fundraising activities on services to the children and their families. |
